Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to our Scotty and to my wonderful dad! We spent a fun weekend with my mom and dad. It was a nice break for my mom who has been caring for my grandmother full-time recently. Scotty got a "surprise" Green Egg for his dad's day so we've done lots of cooking/eating over the holiday weekend. My birthday week was a lot of fun as well. We had some fun friends over the day of and Scotty brought home pizza and an ice cream cake which couldn't make me happier! I got some yummy smelling perfume too. Excuse me eu deu toillette! Whatever it is or wherever it came from, delicious fragrance.

Scott cooked up some burgers Friday night and we had the neighborhood over for the official taste testing. They were so yummy but it was the avocado and bleu cheese that I had been waiting for. Saturday he smoked ribs all day. I think I'm at a meat overload. Feeling like we've been at the Fogo de Chao. I have now turned my card to STOP!

We have a big week ahead. Lillee has cheerleading camp and Baxter will be at a fun camp to play some tennis and swim. They should be tired enough to come home, veg out and watch a movie before bath and bed!

We've had a great weekend with two very special men. They are so giving and loving and deserve showers of kisses from all of us! We love you Poppy and Scott.

In other news I've been trying to shed a few lbs. before this cruise in July. I've been somewhat successful even though this weekend has been a food fest. I found this picture in our files and thought maybe I need braces again. Did they restrict my food intake? Obviously!I think we look a lot like Michelle and Barack Obama even though I'm reading this book!

9 months

  • 22 pounds of pure love and joy
  • two bottom teeth, one top and two more coming in the top
  • sleeping all night! Hooray for you!
  • eating 3 jars of baby food a day. some table food
  • cruising all over the place. The brick fireplace and concrete pool are your favorites! lots of crawling. The chase has begun!
  • waving bye bye and clapping your hands, trying to play peek-a-boo
  • loving your brother and sister!
  • a wiggle worm
  • taking a good nap most days. sometimes there is a short one in the a.m. and afternoon. sometimes no a.m. nap and a 2 1/2 hour afternoon nap. That gives me a chance to wash clothes and read an entire gossip magazine.

We've been pretty busy around here. Everyday we are doing

THIS

AND THIS

We spent Flag Day in our own backyard complete with lots of activities such as two-foot pool, slip-n-slide, playset, trampoline, popsicles. Is there anything else that says summer than a yardfull of junk! Maybe a very old blender that when ask to perform blending duties for an ice cold frozen margarita! However, we almost had the fire department out when it decided to jump off of the base, make a cloud of smoke and sputter black rubber all over the kitchen counter! What a great summer day!

Fun In the Sun

These two had a very fun time at Summer Waves this year. It all started out in the kiddy area. Lillee had just started to ride the tiny slide last year. As soon as she got up to the slide they measured her and what do you know? She's too tall to be in the kiddy area. Duh! We've been telling her that for how long? After some minor caterwalling she was happy in the wave pool. We also floated the Lazy River for quite some time until Scott started getting freaked out about fecal matter and band-aids floating by!

Little Ben stayed home with Nana. Think he needs a haircut?
He loved playing in the pool. He wanted to jump out and eat some grass!

Once we were kicked out of the kiddy area, Bax decided to take the plunge! We were so excited he wanted to go down the slide! Of course Lillee stayed at the bottom on the bench. Ugh. She assured us she'd do it next time! Bax loved it. He and Scott did it twice and I went once with him.

Recap of May

May was a busy month! We stayed in the water pretty much the entire time. There were big plans for the end of school for both munchkins which meant two parties, two sets of cupcakes, four teacher gifts, one end of year program, one graduation! I cannot even begin to imagine life with all three kittens in school! We had fun and we made it. That's what counts. We made the decision and got a pool. Ha! The cool $20 one shown above. Hey, it's made for a lot of fun, hot afternoons. I had to come up with something to do with Baxter getting out of school a week ahead of Lillee.
With Baxter's end of the year program beginning at 9:30 and Lillee's Kindergarten graduation at 9:00, we had to call in the troops and get Nana and Papa in on the action! Unfortunately, Grandma fell and broke her femur so she had emergency surgery and was eventually transferred to a rehab hospital in Jacksonville, FL.
Thankfully, Papa still came and with clear instructions we picked up Mary to keep Ben and we divided up! We were flawless machines. Thanks to my nice planning. It was quite the cute graduating class.
with the cutest girls you've ever seen. Ellis and Lillee were excited that under those robes they had on the exact same dress. Short stuff on the end was thrilled to pieces to be graduating. She just can't wait for her Disney graduation gift! What sweet girls.
As any graduate knows, there has to be a party. After graduation we headed back to Katelin's to get in the pool. Ms. Niki got them this awesome cake.
These two have been living it up in the pool this year! Hair is blonder and the tan lines are darker. Wow - to be their age again!
I was so proud of LGK. She's worked really hard.
The rain and clouds didn't slow them down.
Ms. Joy brought the pinata'. I think Lillee is imagining Baxter's head here.
Did I mention Scott, my dad and I had to run like a flawless machine? That would be because we had to be at dance recital dress rehearsal at 3:30. That's always so entertaining to hear how your child's hair needs to be tighter with no "wispies" and her makeup will need to be touched up. This time a mother ask me if I had Lillee's shade of lipstick in case she needed to be touched up. Ummm....no. And they wonder why I call it the Jon Benet show every year.
Lillee danced really pretty. She's doing so much better than she did last year. There's a lot of concentration going on.

Of course it was two years ago that Baxter went missing on the day of her recital. What a horrible memory that was. This year he decided he would go. Mary stayed with Ben and Baxter was determined he would wear his new goggles nana sent him. I'm picking my battles I tell you.
My sweet angel.
Here's Papa...still hanging with us for the weekend.
Papa did not know what he was in for later in the weekend when we took him to the river after church. We packed up the coolers, kids, yard chairs and the neighborhood and drove over to Thomaston (I think) to the river.
Oh, and did I mention an alligator too! Check out the river behind Baxter! This is the best picture I got. Let's just say I put floaties on Bax and it was still extremely scary. It was flowing like running water.
Also, we saw at least 10 pregnant ladies in bikinis, one domestic violence act and one sweet baby swimming in his diaper which eventually exploded!
Ben and Presley didn't care. They don't mind a fashion statement in the middle of a river where Deliverance could've been filmed. It actually ended up being very fun just a bit entertaining. Papa was a trooper though and we enjoyed him staying with us for the weekend.
Yes, it's still May activities. Lillee had a luau for her end of the year party. Cute? Yes. REALLY, REALLY bad morning trying to get her to wear this dress? Yes.

End of May
Bax had been taking swimming lessons at Gordon College for the entire month of May. The teachers had been asking him to put his face in the water. When he resisted, they said ok. I thought we needed to take a more aggressive approach. I called the swim teacher who taught Lillee. We got him worked into the last week in May. It's a 30 minute drive from home so literally every day Lillee would get off the bus at 3:07 and Bax, Ben and I (and more often than not a neighborhood kid) would have Lillee's snack and drink and have our car in reverse. We would get there about 3:30 or so and listen to Bax scream for 10 mins then sit in the car. I was a little doubtful until day 4!
It really worked.
I don't know exactly what goes on but it works!
The swim teacher told us not even to come back for the last day since he was doing so well. That worked out for us because on his 5th day I took him to Amie in McDonough and she drove him down to Nana's house! He got to start Vacation Bible School on Sunday.
On to sweet Kate's birthday party. What a litter we had here. Ben towers over those sweet girls.
They really enjoyed their cake but not quite as much as Neal's dog, Meg.
Off to the lake for Memorial Day weekend. The storms were in and out but we had so much fun. Ben loves his float and really loves the water.

Lillee finally got brave enough to jump in. It was odd not having Bax around for the entire weekend. We missed him but I have to say no bees came out from anyone and it was a very relaxed, laid back weekend.

Lillee, Ben and I decided we couldn't stand to be away any longer so we came down to get our Bax. This is what they did as soon as they were back together! The boss began doing his hair.
Poppy took us out in his boat. He and I both rode the kneeboard. Wow - which birthday is coming up for me? I could've sworn it was my 60th by the way I felt after doing that! We had lots of fun out on the water and of course Nana had a great picnic for afterwards!
