The aftermath of country cooking...

This is an example of what fried chicken, mac-n-cheese, cornbread and a dose of baptist preaching does to our family on Sunday afternoons. This room is not finished btw.

Yet another pic of dennis in the kitchen...Scott so enjoys coming home to the smell of grease.

Not giving you the full view. Just enough for you to pick apart and scare you off. I like it and that's all that matters. Hopefully, if anyone looked in that front window to rob the joint, they'd think it was a family working for barnum & bailey and keep going. This room is coming along though.

A little project my dad and I created.

This, by far,may be one of my favorite pictures of all time. April gave us this picture of our old house when we moved in here. It is a true treasure. And of course it hangs next to our Kennedy family portrait.

Reliving the days of past...

for all of you waiting for house pics, here's a sneak peak. will get more when i figure out the camera/computer combo... having some difficulty with toshiba battery life.

The birthday girl had lots of fun!!! Matt, Rebecca, Tracy, Key family, Stacy and Robbie(the Georgia College crew)

Thursday night my mother came to town to keep the kids during the busy weekend. Thursday night we had parent orientation at Lillee Grace and Baxter's school. Like we hadn't heard for the past two years not to block the carpool line and if someone doesn't feel comfortable pulling up 15 feet to buckle their child, please be patient. When i hear this, I want to stand up and scream, "Why must I hear this? I work FULL-TIME and will never be dropping off!" Perhaps I should notify the al-quieda cell cab driver we support to make sure he follows drop-off procedures.

After the preschool orientation Niki and I headed over to yet another pampered chef party. By this point, I had seen the inside of my house on Thursday for a total of 30 mins. It was nearing 10:00, my favorite show of all time was coming on, the Vodka and gingerale was not my cup of "tea" and I was beginning to whine. Is it just me or is there a Tupperware/Pampered Chef/Kelly's Kids/Southern Living/Pearl Party (a nice deterrence)... every other week. Can we not all just get together and have the beverages flowing because isn't this what all the parties are about? This concludes Thursday.

Friday afternoon after fighting with to the vultures at the furniture store, Scott and I left to head over to Monroe to Carrie's house for her birthday party. It was a lot of fun. Maggie, my college roommate was there. Rebecca came from Augusta and Stacy from Commerce. It was a fun reunion with Tracy and Robbie, Dawn and Matt. Will spare you the details and say there was a bit of drama with a few party-goers that provided much entertainment and conversation for months to come. Scott and I slept on a king-size air mattress in the living room floor. The bad part of "king-size" is the fact there were two twins and I basically was in the crack all night trying to get warm. Coupled with the smell of cigarettes and cigar oozing out of my hair. Thank goodness that habit is gone for me. It looks so fun on my favorite show - but ugh - the aftersmell.

On our way back from Monroe, we stopped in McDonough at a birthday party. Niki and Jim took LG for us so we met them there. It's hard to be chipper at a 3-year-old party after getting three hours of sleep. Must of been a theme going on...
Been hanging out with Dennis this afternoon. Baxter sat on the lawn mower for oh, a few hours while LG did nose dives into the redneck riviera.

LCD baby!

So I've finally gotten a computer and as I sit here watching ??? football on the mega-screen, I have time to reflect on all the time that has passed when I did not have such the luxury of seeing pics I was taking come to life. Please see what I have to comment on each and every day - the flat screen, not to be confused with plasma - but LCD TV. It's a very interesting little addition. By the way, if you're wondering where you can get one?? Best Buy - oh, you want to know about the green extension cord hanging?? Dollar General $1.99. Now, the
next pics you'll see are of my pink dining room, plaid curtains, flowered panels, crazy girl stuff. All that matters though is that ridiculous TV is hanging high. Even the Geek Squad thought it was a bit much. I mean they admitted it's common practice to put these things in homes in country club subdivisions and the posh neighborhoods in Atlanta. However, one thing I have to say about the GEEK SQUAD is that each time, and there were many, they came in and out of hte house, they put these surgical covers over their shoes. It was the greatest invention since sliced bread.

Also pictured is my mom's 50th birthday party we had in Brunswick last weekend. My dad worked very hard to try to make it a surprise for her. It was not. Nevertheless, she enjoyed it. I think they would have liked to be at Cracker Barrell where they know the wait staff by first name, the sweet tea flows like water and the biscuits come with three packs of apple butter.
We had a good time and my grandma found anyone she could to discuss bowell movements and Hydrocodone. Any takers??? Lillee Grace of course enjoyed helping mom open presents. That was one thing .my dad forgot -no gifts.

The last two pics are of Baxter and Lillee Grace today after church. For some insane Stepford reason, the entire family decided to wear blue and red to church today. Totally accidental but we looked like our sweaters had one too many knots tied around us! I thought the kids looked adorable though.

As for more pics of the house, I will leave you guessing until Amy makes her official visit. Please visit http://www.thecertains.blogspot.com./ to encourage her to please #1 update the blog, #2 visit Skyline. That's all we ask.

School Is In

Going back to school is always tough. No more staying up late. No more 12 packs until 1 a.m. No more sleeping late - wait a minute - that never happened anyway. However, it will put myself and children back on a schedule thankfully. I miss waking up at 5 to walk, having coffee, getting dressed, then seeing the kids for a brief minute before heading out to work.

A few updates on kids:
1. Baxter is officially OCD about the lawn mower. He goes and gets keys, shoes and points to and says, "lawn mower." Very funny. He must go for a ride at least once a day.
2. Lillee Grace has moved up in Sunday School. Sunday we got in the car and she told us all about the fun game she played and which colors the bean bags were and how she "gave money to Jesus."

I will really miss them. However, I know Luke and Laura have missed them terribly. Just the other day I could swear Baxter tried to tell me that Josh and Reva were once again back together again. Mary will be back in full swing after her glaucoma surgery tomorrow. Scott will have diaper duty until my parents arrive at 12. We'll see if he makes it.

Home Sweet Home

Well, here we are. We've been here for a month now. What a summer! Would have been blogging sooner if not for, well, I won't cuss him just yet. Let's just bookmark "The Geek Squad."

I'll start with the move. There is a picture of Fred, Sanford that is, on the trailer we borrowed from Perry. When my t eaching job doesn't workout, I'm seriously going on the road with my CDL license. I backed that trailer 20 times at least. We did have Larry, Bubba and Earl move us with a HUGE Discount Moing van in the front yard. They never really got my jokes about how strong they were and could probably have Chris Benoit's job! They got us moved in with only a few hundred $ in sheetrock repair going down the basement stairs. Scott, Mary and I can say we moved ourselves. Praise the Lord Sandra kept Baxter all day and Sarah kept Lillee Grace. We are blessed to have the great friends.

The entire month of July I spent unpacking, calling electricians, painters, flooring people, cable and internet people. It appears the internet person Scott spent 2 1/2 hours with on the phone in India didn't do their job just right.

I will include pics (sorry if there are too many - I'm just so excited I can do this now) from when my dad came July 4th, Scott on the trailer while Sandra made fun of our Beverly Hillbilly move and kid pics.

The kiddies LOVE the house - the stairs are a little scary but we're getting there.
