not so tiny dancer

Last weekend was Lillee Grace's recital. She was definitely in true Jon Benet fashion as she sashe'd and possay'd all over the stage. It was very cute.
Chandler stayed home with the boy child and when the recital was over we came home to pick him up. Went out to lunch with ENTIRE family. Got home and everyone went to their respective places. Mom and I were packing the kids swim thing up in the garage and looked around and Bax was GONE. Not in house anywhere, not outside. I drove around the block. Screaming his name. My dad ran down the road to the pool. No. Called Blair. Lindsay, Bubba and Turner came running. April, David, Claire Ann and friends are driving around like crazy. Called 911. They tell me to round up some neighbors. Already done. I ran up and down the Skyline hill like 4 times. Don't ask why? didn't know what else to do? Finally, Bubba points a finger. There he was behind Bonnie's house in the shrubs. The only thing we can figure is that we were all over there (at Bonnie's) that morning in her garden and Chuck had the garden tools out? However, that does not excuse the fact that he did not come to us when we were screaming for him.
We are not bad parents. It just seems that for the past two weekends we really have had a bad run of it with the kids. Maybe this was the one big scare factor for their childhood. Let's hope.

RIP dear Razor

If you haven't heard by now, the poor pink phone has gone "afloat." Literally. Two weekends ago LG and I were at a pool birthday party. The little tike was going it alone sans floaties when she slipped off the slope that leads to the deep end. Thankfully, there was no guilt involved as I was watching her the entire time. Luckily, it did not happen one of those 6 times I had gone back to the beer cooler. (KIDDING) I was watching as she got closer and closer to that slope and before I could yell out to tell her to come back she was a goner. I jumped in not too gracefully. I'm not sure which was worse? Lillee going under, the cell phone in pocket, or the dreaded white smocked shirt I was wearing? It was a very scary moment.
This was on Sat. around 3 or so. Can you believe I didnot have a new phone in hand until Wed. late? I may as well have been in detox. Instead of paying the insurance $, I did get a new phone and from what the teenagers are saying, it's pretty darned cool! Scott said it was a small price to pay since I was such a hero!
So if you're reading this and I have not contacted you for your new number, please let me know what it is. The contacts could not even be transferred. The entire situation TRAUMATIC!

Garden Party

Here's the table our garden club decorated. We had a great time coming up with our "birthday theme."
This is another club's table. All were so pretty!
We had a great speaker for the program who got us all very enthusiastic about plants!

JAX ZOO

We've been spending lots of family bonding time together, I know Amy, thanks. This was a few weeks ago when we down to my parents. We decided to have a family reunion with the JAX ZOO! Minus the part where my mom decided to go on her own tour with Baxter, it was fun. Scott and I enjoyed hanging out with LG. My dad finally caught up with my mom and 6:00 closing time Scott's cell phone rang with a 912 area code and my mom had convinced some random stranger to let her call us to meet us at the gate. Memorable!

Wild Adventures

We headed down to Valdosta to meet the parents at Wild Adventures. We checked into the hotel and Brittany and Abby came over to meet us. We had so much fun seeing our long lost sisters. They were busy and we couldn't take them to the grocery store but we did feel quite "parently" and the need to buy them groceries. Gosh we're getting old. That night we went over to see their apartments. There were parties going on everywhere - Scott and I both took a minute to reminisce the college life. Then there were milk requests from the backseat. Those are such sweet girls. Wish we would've gotten a pic!
The next day we hung out and enjoyed the roller coasters and animals, even though some were on their last leg. Mom and dad took Baxter home with them so we were able to cruise slowly back to Griffin. We even stopped at a Cracker Barrell in Tifton. I can't remember the last time we enjoyed a leisurely meal with children.

SPRING BREAK 08

During Spring Break this year we stayed home the entire week. It was very relaxing!
Here's Baxter's idea of a fun day during Spring Break. I realize this post is a bit late. School has been extremely hectic along with Mary's hiatus. More on that another time. After a long day at Noah's Ark (so much fun) we all came home and I laid down on the couch. About 15 mins later I awoke and found Baxter MIA. He was on the front porch with the Play-Doh scissors cutting my beautiful tulips! He had already cut three down and was so proud when I came out. He really wanted to show them to me and give me one. Oh boy oh boy!!!

And here is sweet Lillee with her friends at Noah's Ark. We had a great time with a LARGE group of friends from Griffin.
