Is this the last birthday for a while?

I'm still working on figuring out the whole blog thing and the way the pictures are sorted. However, I could not let these pictures slip through to Walgreen's without giving them their due time on the web. It has just been such a busy week that now I have to post twice to get everything in. These pics are from Thursday night, Sandra's birthday. It is a tradition we have started to go to J.Henry's for birthday affairs. I can't take many more. What seems to start out as a fun evening with a few appetizers and always ends in the $8 chocolate cake ended a little differently this time. Farrah, Sandra and I did get to ride home in the back of Senator Crider's SUV. I know he was thrilled to come pick us up. What a fun group of friends to share your utmost and personal details with. And when I say personal, let's just say that Sandra's pantry has seen a lot! We ended the evening at casa de Long singing Material Girl on the karaoke machine! Let's just say that I probably didn't have the hardest time on Friday!

Daddy's princess

A BIG BOUNCE

sweet and loving friends

requests, please call...

What an exciting week! Lillee Grace has turned three approximately three or four times. Let's see, we started the festivities with her class party at the Methodist church. Next, we had an intimate affair at home on her actual birthday (Tues.) with leftover frozen cupcakes. That was the big day we went to the aquarium. The final shabang was today at Megamaze in the Griff. We only had a few friends come: Bo, Katelin, Ben, Abby, Caroline and Elizabeth was out of town. Very small gathering but considering the pills I would have had to consume for more children to be there. What a great place. You can take your kids' shoes off, throw them in the ball pit and let them run! My parents were here and that was a big help considering the father of my children was busy getting his cake and ice cream while I was trying to juggle the video camera and the other one too. You can tell Scott and my dad had a great time racing. Still on a high from Daytona. Melissa was up from St. Simons visiting a "friend" so she came down this a.m. too. That was a great treat!
Our little princess was showered with gifts. The strawberry shortcake theme was a hit. There was some intrinsic reward for me when Scott said how much the bakery liked my designed cake. Still having control issues. It can't be just any cake! She got lots more princess dresses and tutus. Everything in excess - that's the theme around here. It's hard to believe that three years ago we were holding her like she would break. I think we still do that. She's so growny. Sometimes she acts just like her father with her quirkiness and the peculiarity. However, it is times where she is anticipating Baxter getting slobber on her magic wand and already thinking about getting the Chlorox wipes that she is totally my child. She definitely tolerates her brother better now and is getting along with him. Everything is done in her own time which gets under my skin at times because I must keep the family on their schedules. She does not understand the fact that we will "BE LATE IF YOU DO NOT TAKE THE TRAILER PARK CLOTHES OFF NOW!" Overall, I think we've got a keeper that can be super duper sweet if you'll just hang out with her for a few months!

I'm giving up my husband for Lent

A long car ride back
to Griffin. Lillee and papa looking in the touch tanks!

I smell something fishy!

Driving her new Mustang around the yard and eating breakfast at Sandcastle with Aunt Phyllis and nana.

Happily I was going to sit down and type the greatest post about Lillee Grace's 3rd birthday. I even had the title: Year #3. It was going to be divine. I was going to go into explicit details of our weekend down south, all the visitors that poured into my parent's house as we descended upon Glynn county, Mustang Sally's new car, the yummy Italian meal Scott and I had Sat. night, Baxter learning how to give a five and all of the exciting things we did. If I didn't mention, my dad rode home with us yesterday and will be staying through the weekend. Hence, all the handyman jobs (changing of light bulbs and air filters will be done with his presence!) Oh, and the pics that would have come to you from the Georgia Aquarium today! Wow - Lillee Grace turning three with Depo behind her and my dad holding her up to show her how to touch the shrimp, the horseshoe crabs and the stingrays. Now for the letdown - no pics. Why is that? No camera cable to attach to the computer. Tis the Lenten season...

1 1/2 hours later, he now wants me to let the world wide web know that he's saved the day and found a different way to put pictures on the internet via his little jump drive. It's just his guilty conscience talking because he knows he's lost the cable. Who else in the house loses things? Here are a few pics from our fun weekend down south along with today's pics of the aquarium. I don't know who had more fun: my dad or Lillee Grace. It was a lot of fun. A little crowded unless you've got an IV drip of Prozac going in. Baxter stayed home with Mary while we took the princess for her special day. She showed us how special when she woke up when we pulled in the parking deck with wet pants. Yes, my dad gave her an extra chocolate milk when I left the house this a.m. I just told her not to sit in the stroller for awhile. That if she ran around in the aquarium, her pants would dry quicker! It worked. The saltwater tunnel was the coolest. Four stars. However, I still think her favorite part of the day was the playground tunnel and the gift shop. Of course, my dad obliged her there.

Must begin thinking of other things for Lent since Scott has decided to redeem himself at the 11th hour. Will ponder these things in my heart.

Brace Face and Four Eyes

Scott has been threatening to do another guest blog so I knew I must post something soon. It's been awhile I know, but after the last post about Pilates I had to have my back realigned. Hmmm, since last week a few new developments. It seems as though we wanted to revert back to our preteen zit-faced adolescence. Scott got glasses and I got braces. I say that as I sit and grind my extremely painful teeth. You'd think the Percocet from my c-sections would do the trick? Maybe Ibuprofen 800 mg. every two hours? I can literally feel the teeth moving. I've survived off potato soup and milkshakes since Friday. The combination of my serious case of TMJ and the pictures where I looked like Bucky horse finally did me in. So the lovely staff at Dr. Lindsey's office slapped the metal right on. The extractions come later.

This past weekend was the annual Heart Hustle at Futral Road. I took Lillee Grace and her friend Elizabeth. At the starting line Bo started to chase LG so while I carried Elizabeth, Bo and Lillee Grace ran around the track screaming! I think Sarah got some great pics so check her site for details! After the race we ate breakfast at the annual Kiwanis pancake breakfast. Such the Kennedys to do the small town tour on Sat. a.m. Cute aside: we came home and LG and Biv went to LG's bedroom. Five mins. later I saw them both naked as jaybirds. Five mins. later they were in pj's and nightgowns crawling in the bed. It was priceless. While the house was having it's Sat. pressure washing, we headed to Stockbridge for some much needed pictures. I hadn't had pics. developed since Christmas when I started blogging. We dropped Elizabeth off, came home and all crashed! It was a great Sat. except Scott's way of relaxing was having two bloody marys. Fine right? Not when you wash two *extremely* spicy drinks down with a Godiva chocolate cold coffee drink. Yes, I know, not another Scott story. So then he remembers he may need the power cord for his laptop for his Sunday School lesson. Yes, I said Sunday School. He makes me perform a field sobriety test in the den, then heads up to his office. Four hours later he was home and most importantly, had missed the Bud Shoot Out.

After church on Sunday we drove back up to McDonough to Target. Lillee Grace usually does not do well in restaurants after church. It could have something to do with the amount of doughnuts she has inhaled there. I suggested running in Target and then we could get some ice cream. I told you it's the only thing going in this mouth this past week. Misery. So while we're getting diapers, formula, paper towels, Scott announces he's so hungry he's going to go sit at the snack bar in Target and eat a hot dog. So our trip consisted of Baxter and me meandering around the store while Scott and LG had a feast. It was great to see my husband and daughter having a four star dining experience by eating the hot dogs that had probably been on the rolling heat for hours, maybe days? Had a lingerie shower yesterday afternoon for my dear friend Amy. What a great theme: Margaritas and Matrimony! Our host, Nancy, will have to decorate my next house! WOW! A few people are a little upset that I did not take pictures at the shower for my blog. "We're not blogworthy." I've heard that all day. I wouldn't say that. I would say that because of the risque material and the fact that I've been in a slump on blogging, I just didn't feel like I could do it justice! It was a great party thrown by some great hosts. I still want Paula to have one more glass. I enjoyed using my cool acrylic glasses and silver tray given to me by my pal Amy. Even though they came from Crate and Barrel I still think they're a regift!!!

What a crazy week. Scott, the person who still unlocks his car door with the actual key, leaves them hanging in the door, then wonders where his keys are when trying to crank it, camped out at the Methodist Church this a.m. to ensure our children spots in two classes. Thank God no one called the cops while he sat in his car alone under the portico of a preschool. I have my class Valentines party Wed. Thanks to my super duper room mom, Nancy, it's been extremely stress-free. Love her. LG has her party Wed. and then Friday she has her birthday party at school. So sad I won't be able to attend either party. It is depressing but Scott will be there for her on Friday. I guess that's what happens when you're a working mom? Not a happy camper about it though. We're going to St. Simons on Friday so I'll have the whole week with the whippersnappers. Then we'll be back for the other birthday party. You'd think her little school party would be enough.

If Baxter wasn't mentioned above, it is because he is the most precious creature on earth. Through the chaos and running around, he just hangs in there purring. Last night as we rocked to Red Hot Chili Peppers on the Grammys at 11 p.m., he woke up crying. We put him in bed with us and he just hung out and wollered for awhile. Thirty mins. later, I put him back in the crib. Sweet baby boy.

Having a BALL in pilates

Nora, our friendly pilates teacher, decided we should have a ball to help us with stretches and exercises. Little did she know the uncoordination of the majority of the class. I looked like the crocodile hunter (RIP) wrestling some type of animal. It was definitely not a calm, peaceful experience for me. My TMJ kicked in and my head still hurts from clenching everything I have to stay on the ball. I don't think it's supposed to be that hard and those Jane Fonda people make it look so easy on TV. You could hear balls deflating and air whooshing out all night long. Don't get me wrong, I'll try it again on Thurs. However, I'm curious if it's considered sacriligious to gyrate in the church? Reflecting on the Lenten season, I can definitely see giving up the ball for over a month. Not a bad idea. No, I did not take the camera into class. If things are difficult, I usually just sit up and text! Gives my phalanges a good work out!

Winter Carnival '07

Saturday a.m. we cleaned the house, made Valentines, painted, baked cookies, cleaned the house some more, showed the house and took LG and Baxter to LG's winter carnival at her preschool. Very exciting day! Of course, she had a ball. She enjoyed getting her face painted and decorating a cookie and as always, she had to give her little bro some love. Baxter was thrilled just hanging out in the stroller. After winning a silent auction item and Scott realizing he didn't bring his wallet, (yes, another Scott story)he left us at the church and ran home to get money. 30 mins. later (we live literally 2 mins from the church) he came back elated. The realtor that showed the house had left her card on the counter. After my foot was surgically removed from his backside, I explained to him that it's probably a common practice for anyone who shows a house to leave their card to simply let us know they've been there. Geez. How does he function in society I sometimes wonder?

Here's Baxter after church on Sunday a.m. We were playing with him on our bed and he literally crashed right there. He's usually spent after hanging with the nursery crew.

No sane person would probably photograph such a hideous pantry. However, I couldn't miss this opportunity. This is what Baxter decided to do while we were trying to pick up Sat. a.m. before the house was shown. I guess he decided to forgo Hello Kitty movie so he could get his fix on Dixie Cups.

Super Bowl XLI

The Super Bowl party was fun! With 25 people in this little chateau how could it not be?
