Toothless

It's taken awhile but we've finally lost our first tooth! I cannot tell you how sad I was when Lillee came home and said it was very loose. She grabbed an apple on our way out the door to church and OUCH! We happened to pass April on the way to pick up Katelin and she said she was an expert tooth puller. Lillee said she'd think on it at church and maybe come by later. THREE hours later we pulled into her driveway. She tried to get it with a washcloth but said she really needed a baby washcloth to get a firm grip. We piled everybody back in the car and came to our house. After locating the baby cloth and some pliers the dentist was ready to begin. Lillee was so brave. She didn't cry at all. Through shaky words she did tell me to prepare some salt water for her! On the second try it popped right out.
Lillee even opted for Ms. April's twisty hairdo for the occasion. Bax was very quiet, sitting back drinking his Diet Dr. Pepper.
Luckily, Ms. Amy brought Lillee the cutest Tooth Fairy owl pillow a couple of weeks ago so we were very prepared. She put her tooth in and finally went to sleep. Five a.m. this morning the thunder and lightening were so terrible that she came to our room and announced loudly the tooth fairy had come and left $5 but didn't take her tooth...so I was a little sleepy last night? I told her that maybe the tooth fairy got scared off by the storm and had to fly out quickly. So at 6:30 when the storms calmed she must have flown back for the treasured tooth!
She is getting so big! I think she's a little old to have just lost her first tooth but she can stay little as long as she likes.

Ok, there will probably not be anymore pics of me until next year when I've lost 85 lbs! More dress up pics to come in the month of December.
Can we just say that this is the best babysitter EVER! The kids love her, especially Baxter because, "She knows how to work the TV."

Griffin Tech Gala

We spent Saturday night at the Griffin Tech Gala. I'm assuming from this pic that ruffles are in this year? It was sort of fun to get dressed up and head out even if my Morton's Neuroma did not appreciate the heels. Ugh. I knew I should've worn my SAS.

These are some super sweet friends of ours. It was nice to get to chit chat with them and catch up without 10 kids running under our feet.
We had a great time. There could potentially be a charge for a "Life Coach" certificate I "won." We'll see if we got the call. Other than that, we didn't win a thing. These are pics from Scott's phone so I'll have to get the camera out and share those pics later. Currently, I'm unable to move from the sofa because:
1) Bachelor Pad is on
2) took Ben to pediatrician today. He has double ear infection and my throat had hurt so badly since Saturday night that she swabbed me and I have strep. Yes folks, always something.

Lexi Street

Last week a few of us ventured out to the big city to see Lexi Street. They are an awesome band. Our sweet friend, Amy Littleton sings and I could really be a groupie. I would say they are a bit jazzish/folksy/sheryl crowish? If I knew what emo meant, I'd say they may could be that?If you're in the Atlanta area, they are a must.
We left Griffin at 8:20, got to Atlanta about 9:30 and were home by 12ish. A perfect evening. It's so nice to have kids bathed, fed and quiet for night time before leaving home. How about the venue - W Hotel super cool. It smelled really nice.

Shopping Spree

Lindsay and I took a little trip to Tanger Outlet Mall today. I needed an outfit for Saturday night. We are going to a Gala for Griffin Technical College. It's a Black Tie Affair so I pulled out my old faithful black skirt that I LOVE! I just needed a top to go with it - simple right? Not so simple...I found a shirt similar to this
I like it but I'm not in LOVE with it. I really wanted a cardigan with a belt but Lindsay would have none of it. I may still go back tomorrow. They had some really cool stuff. It's definitely a bookmark for future needs. And, a "PLUS" is that they have mama's sizes! Wow!
So all I got is this shirt. However, I really wanted to get this headband....
It was a good shopping trip, a little tough with babies in tow, but fun!

A Trip to the Farm

We took a trip with Ms. Bonnie to her mother's farm. The children had the best time. We didn't get a picture of the Gator or of Ben getting licked incessantly by the sweet puppies but we did have a great time! We figured out why the dogs loved Ben so much - he had applesauce in his hair so they were having a tasty treat! He did not enjoy one bit. We rode a long ways while Scruffy led us around and all of the other dogs followed along. We saw the cows and longhorns. Above is a pic of Goldie. She was super sweet and enjoyed her dip in the pond. Bax and Lillee loved watching Ms. Bonnie give Chloe her shot for her diabetes while Ben put the cat's toys in his mouth!

Chloe, Buddy, Scruffy, Red and Goldie in the back. You can tell this sweet lady loved her animals.

Happy #53 Nana!

This past weekend we had a birthday party for Nana! We were so glad to see her recuperating so well. The kiddos had lots of fun telling them about school. I welcomed lots of help in packing lunches too!
Mom and I also worked on a big project----details and pics coming soon!
We are already counting the days until September 25 - Nana's return.

If I were a blog with followers, I would highly recommend shopping at www.zappos.com. I had a great experience. It wasn't until 1/2 way into the phone call that I recalled I had ordered probably a dozen pairs of shoes from them this year. Wait, that's more than one pair a month. Let's hope Scott doesn't see this!
So I ordered this pair of shoes for Baxter last week. He wore them for five minutes and the bottom elastic strap broke. I packaged them back up and prepared to send them back. I called the customer service number and had the most pleasant experience. I wanted to order a new pair and because the above shoes were "defective" they said to keep those. When I expressed to my nice new friend the desire to purchase others she said they would do an even swap. I told her the newer shoes were $12 more. "I'm sorry for any inconvenience ma'm. Please accept this discount as our apology."
Wowsers! I'll be shopping here again soon! Probably too soon.
Baxter has been talking about these shoes for a couple of weeks. He says they're just like Cameron's and that is absolutely what his goal is!

11 months = T-R-O-U-B-L-E

This little angel is beginning to be a handful! Can you just see his leg in the above picture? Yes, that would be a climber on our hands!
MISCHIEF
Then there's this sweet picture when he's so happy.
It goes from
THIS
TO
THIS
in 6 seconds!

10 months

In a couple of days I'll post 11 month pics! These were actually taken on Ben's 10 month birthday but I'm a month late posting. Wow - I guess we've been pretty busy. I must have taken these right when we got back from vacation?
Anywho, this little guy is really beginning to show his personality and let me tell you, HE'S HIS OWN LITTLE GUY!
Temper: short
Patience: thin
Best friend: me
Appetite: large and must feed himself
Independence: gives a look that says, "DO NOT TOUCH ME"
Will: Strong
Sweetness: a lot of love to give!

There will definitely be another outfit for the 11 month pic. This one will not go around our little sausage patty!

1st day of school 2010-2011

I cannot believe these two are both in school. Monday was a little sad. Baxter was a little hesitant but Lillee jumped right up! I think I would have cried if I hadn't had Ben in my arms carrying him out.

Lillee starts 1st grade! What an important year with the most awesome teacher ever. Seriously, Mrs. Laulimiere is DEDICATED to her work! She and Mrs. Hogan are so similar so Lillee is so fortunate to have her.

Baxter has Mrs. Tweedell and Ms. Redding. We are extremely excited about them as well. Ms. REdding is known to carry her little people around the school and if she wants to tote Bax around the halls, more power to her! He hesitated a little before going but she took him right in and found his little seat.

He got off the bus (yes, they rode the bus the first day) and said he did not see Constance. She's in the room next door but very much missed by him. Tuesday he said he did see her on the playground and gave her a hug! I think he likes it. He told me I didn't have to pack him a lunch because they have cooks at the school.

Ben and I have been at a loss of what to do? Just a week ago we were cruising around to the Children's Museum and Centennial Park, Amie's house and waterpark at her house, Carrie's house with Callie, Rebecca and Thomas (more on that soon) and hanging out with some of our favorite friends. Now, we're just playing ball in the den! I'm sure he's a bit bored with me! He is very happy around 3 p.m. when his brother and sissy get here!

We're already looking forward to the first break? Labor Day?
