Year #1 for BSK

Baxter is 1!!!!! Wow! I cannot believe it's already been a year. With Lillee Grace, it seemed like I prayed each night for God to speed things up a bit. However, with Bax it seems like just yesterday the hospital was calling at 5:30 a.m. to wake me up and say come have a baby. He's been such an easy baby, just a bit of a drool box. I think he's been having teething issues since two months old. I knew when he chewed up the UPS boxes that we were in for it. Lillee Grace always loathes someone to bother her big brown truck shipments. Baxter's small, intimate gathering included none other than Bo and Sarah. It was such a nice day so we played in the yard for a long time. Bo and LG love riding Baxter in the car playing music! We ordered a pizza (ok, three and some wings) and Scott brought home the Thomas cake big enough to feed an Angelina Jolie mission project. The women of Futral Road will be happy to see me walk through the doors in the a.m. with a ziploc full of black olive pizza and 10,000 calories of blue Thomas icing. Bax opened presents and got an Elmo/Cookie Monster ball that wiggles, a Curious George that glows in the dark (per Scott) and a cool Thomas train that choo choos when you push it. That was by far his favorite gift because it was just the right height for him to push as he crawls along. And no, he did not walk on his first birthday. When it came time for the cake, he looked like a monster. Lillee Grace never tore into her cake that way. It was in his hair, ears, eyes. We finally took the hose to the patio and I took Bax to the tub so passerbys wouldn't see us bathe our child in a washtub! How exciting to have a one year old little boy now. I know we'll have lots more fun ahead! Love you buddy.
